HO - you are so RIGHT about PCGS being...

the TOP rated highest premium grader.

I always keep that in mind and discout the NGC and ANACS a very slight tad.

Funny HOW the MODERN coins have taken on a new collectable PERSONNA just because they are slabbed: but, like we talked about perhaps that is the new future "an AUTHENTICATED premium."

Just like when we started we grabbed the *SLABBED*Morgans, Peace, eagles and double eagles in Saints and Liberties; the NEWBES coming in after the next Paper FIASCO (read stocks, bonds, derrivatives, options, and residential and commercial real estate) just might drive the REAL ASSETS of the ULTIMATE currencies (gold silver platinum) not to mention the NUMISMATICS a tad higher - say 500%....

Frankly if I was NEW right now I'd grab as many of those UHR at the half price they are today from the manufacturing COST? (wink wink wink!)

Saints are LAUNCHING once again....

I'd like to see the common date MS65s over $3,000 making a run at the old $3,500 level way-back-when 1989 M3 was 4,000 Billion versus perhaps 16,000to 18,000 Billion TODAy.

Like we said IMAGINE the MS65 for $10,000 to $12,000 each!

Selling ONE on Ebay would take two credit cards to buy!

Hey HS what do you think of this please....

I went to my coin dealer today to find out where he stood on trading his bullion coins for my common date double eagles. He said he thought my stategy was wise and spoke of giving 4 ounces for 3 but said he had too few 1 ounce coins to do the deal. He said in about 3 weeks to call again.
Specifically he said 3 of my common date MS62 for 4 GAE's. That sounds good...Yes?

I'm freaking out looking at the link! I've got some St. G's in MS62-63 that I bought in 2000-2004.

Do the math - figure out how much bullion you have - make sure you have around 50 ounces of silver to each ounce of gold - then GRAB all the NUMISMATICS (read Saints first then MORGANS) you can.

Frankly any GOLD SILVER PLATINUM (bullion or numismatics) deal right now is NO brainer - they way they are printing digitalizing should make a five banger down the road at LEAST (read five times by 2014). :36_1_34::36_1_34::36_1_34::36_3_16:

Lord - my heart stopped when I saw my name on a thread title in here!!!! I thought - carp, what had I done NOW?! *lol*<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I did mention I sold a little bullion for that semi-numismatic UHR coin, actually got four.......and I will also admit, when they changed the order limit, I was not happy cause they also changed the numismatic potential IMO cause the dealers started stockpiling..........

......but all that being true........

I still agree with you......a lot less coins than collectors AND a lot of these coins are not slabbed and graded........(some won't even be kept in the boxes........to I think MOST people are smarter than that - but I have already heard idiot stories.) Not sure I'd feel that way about a different coin..........but this one is special - REALLY special - and, when its almost done minting, most of the public knows nothing about it.......and if one is going to hold gold, its a beaut!!! In fact, the one of those I keep for myself, and my golden dragons would probably be the last four gold coins I'd ever sell..........

I have not yet read the rest of this thread.......but I did read another thread where you posted to the guy - buy what you LIKE!!!!

(Tho no one mentioned to him the part where, once you talk yourself out of what you like best, you only to hate the coin you DID get cause you always think - it could have been the other one. If one is going to buy gold, and one can afford it, no reason not to spend a little more for something you really want.......after all, gold should bring one enjoyment and inner peace. Lord knows, I don't have a single numismatic coin that's lost any value while I have been its guardian. One day we should talk about how I see us as the guardians of these coins as they travel thru history.......so there is a level where I sort of think of myself as honored to be part of a line of people protecting them for future collectors.........and often wonder what will they be worth in 100 or 500 years if humans are still here..........they'll probably be in museums! *lol* Actually, that's something slabbing has been really GOOD for......it protects the coins so much better that they will last longer thru history.)

FURTHER - I agree - bullion can go on forever, numismatics has a limited quantity - once they stop minting it - its done! As long as I know what the hell I am doing , I have no fears with the numismatic and semi-numismatic coins I collect............tho I do tell my people, IF YOU ARE NEW - stick to bullion........

You know, there are two sorts of people in this world........this should not surprise you, its ALWAYS a Tao thing.........either you are buying a lump of metal and don't give a damn whets on it as long as it isn't the queen (investors/survivalists)..........or one gets taken with the art, the history and the coins themselves and becomes a numismatic person............for many they start out as investors buying coin and the more they buy the more coins they see and the numismatic bug hits..........

I am still about 50% bullion, I guess......but the survivalist in me is bored - and if I survive, man, have I got my feet wet in a great hobby!!!

Anyway - bless you for you post.........I'll be sending you my cardiologist's bill tomorrow morning!

CHEERS!!!!

I think I am folowing this - but I am curious as to why you think that?

I think I am gold top-heavy.

I think I am WAY top heavy gold..........

Damn.

Now I won't sleep worrying I have too much gold............

I guess I'll have to give some away to even out my ratio.

I am not sure I can do the math.

I am such a shit. :moon:

Re: HO - you are so RIGHT about PCGS being...

I think (pray wish hope - on my battle knees - that BECAUSE the 50 to 1 follows the big boys like Central Fund of Canada) that down the road you can trade off say 30 of those for gold.

That give you 20 for core - core is USA junk silver - old silver US dollars - and GREEN MONSTER boxes.

Today the highs so far were $1021.54 versus 17.38 or less than 59 to 1 ratio.

This has fallen from 80 to 1 recently (which was a great time to buy SILVER too, right?).

When it starts to dive below the 45 to 1 level it's time for an exit strategy.

Say 10% at first - then 15% of the 30 extra ounces at the biggies to trade into it:

45
40
35
30
25
20
15

Now the BIG "if" is if we HIT them - then we trade without emotion. :4_1_72: Trying to wait for say, 15 or even 20 MIGHT be a FOOLS end game wish - a "HAIL MARY way behind 5 points in the GAME TOUCHDOWN PASS for my friends the Roman Catholics!" :111::111::111:

Re: HO - you are so RIGHT about PCGS being...

From a Canadian perspective, PCGS is the only US TPG really worth dealing with for Canadian coins. The only exception would be NGC slabs at a heavy discount, bought to be cracked out and re-submitted to a more favorable TPG.
